I feel as though a good portion of modern society world wide is being, in a sense taken over by western influence, The United States produces the majority of pop culture through out the world, Our restaurants, movies, clothing, music, etc. I feel as though the youth of today have more in common on a global scale than ever before, as a direct result, there are several new ways that are allowing the world to be more close knit, which can be directly associated with the advancements of technology, primarily the Internet has allowed everyone in reach to connect to the world with a few clicks of a mouse.
I feel as though this has also open up several new outlets of self expression for any one with the ability to access the internet. For one the craze of Facebook has allowed people on a global scale to interact on several different levels.

You could show how "the youth of today have more in common on a global scale than ever before." It would be interesting to see what brand names, stores, styles etc have come from different cultures and immersed themselves into our culture.
